ground penetrating radar
Central Queenslandgpr services
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a specialised geophysical technique of sub-surfacing imaging.
Hydro Excavac’s GPR services provide a non-destructive method of providing information before excavating.
We use a wide variety of antennas that can target different depths and provide high resolution images in real time.
If you’re planning on excavating or digging into the ground it is important to do the research prior to digging to ensure you don’t accidentally damage any utility or service lines.
our ground penetrating radar services can be applied to:
- Locate ground water and determine depth
- Accurately locate underground infrastructure
- Locate underground pipes
- Locate utility and service lines
frequently asked questions
Ground penetrating radar (GPR) uses radio waves to capture images below the grounds surface in a minimally invasive way.
The GPR uses electromagnetic radiation waves that travel through the subsurface of the earth and reflect back signals and images of subsurface structures. The Ground penetrating radar is rolled across the surface of the ground as electromagnetic waves detect differences within the soil to identify subsurface structures such as rocks, pipes, cracks and voids.
Ground penetrating radar is used to complement traditional electronic locating methods.
GPR is used to identify services that are non-conductive and impossible to trace using electronic methods.
